Apparently these two, who are apparently related to President Saleh, are the son and nephew of senior military commander. Military intelligence and national security began investigating them after it was discovered that the vehicle involved in the Bombing of the U.S. embassy in Sana’a was linked to them, and it is alleged that they partially financed an al-Qaeda cell.

The militant, Said Ali al-Shihri, is suspected of involvement in a deadly bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, in September. He was released to Saudi Arabia in 2007 and passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former Islamic extremists before resurfacing with al Qaeda in Yemen.
